December's Redliner of the Month

The Redliner of Month honors an employee who lives Redline Equipment’s core values. They are nominated by their peers and receive a gift package that includes a gift card of their choice for their family, a Redline Yeti tumbler, along with lunch with our CEO.

Phil Leckron, Corporate Parts Manager, is honored as our December Redliner of the Month.

With the uncertainties of a changing company, Phil Leckron stepped up to the challenge and is helping transform the Redline Equipment Parts Department.

Although Phil has only been with Redline Equipment for a few months, he has shown dedication and flexibility to help the company thrive. His willingness to learn, paired with his knowledge, made the acquisition transition easier for staff on both sides. He ensures that each individual member of the team has an adequate understanding of the task ahead and he puts in extra hours to help where needed.

In the newly created position Leckron works with parts mangers at every location on inventory, stocking, and purchasing parts to provide unequalled customer satisfaction, ensuring parts availability.

Before becoming the Corporate Parts Manager for Redline Equipment in September of 2017 after the Koenig Equipment Indiana acquisition Leckron had been the Parts Manager for the Gas City store.

“It was an opportunity with more responsibility and newer challenges. It was the right choice and the right opportunity, at the right time,” Leckron said on the transition to his new role with Redline Equipment. “It’s nice to see the variety and have exposure to a whole new world.”

As employees began discovering challenges with the new company computer system, Phil became a huge asset with his previous knowledge and willingness to help. He has spent a great deal of time mentoring and training fellow staff.

“Phil is very systematic and organized, which definitely helps our team,” Phil Cobb, Location Manager at Bowling Green said. “He also has an ability to connect with people.”

His knack for working with others is also demonstrated through his relationships and concern for customers. He had a significant customer base when he served as a Parts Manager, and while his new position with the company has a more internal focus, Phil has helped foster new relationships between customers and staff.

“Phil is always professional and always detailed,” said Lisa Reffett, Phil’s supervisor.

It’s clear that Phil shows tremendous concern and commitment to his Redline Equipment family, but outside of the office, Phil is also a dedicated father to three children, a caring husband, an occasional golfer and a life-long Purdue fan, which is where he graduated from in 1983.

Family is important, and Phil makes sure to find time to be an assistant coach for his son’s wheelchair basketball team and a personal cheerleader for his daughter who cheers at Indiana Wesleyan University.

“It amazes me how dedicated Phil is to his children even though he works so much,” said Reffett. “Sometimes as his boss, it’s my job to remind him to take care of himself, too.”

Many consider Phil to be a dedicated employee who challenges himself and others to learn more about the business in order to support customers and make tasks more efficient. He is often described as committed and a team-player.

“I’m thinking it must have been a tie and I won the coin toss. It’s great to be recognized out of so many great people. They’ve helped me as much or more as I can help them,” Leckron said.
