Why We’re Supporting FFA Through Parts Days

I’m proud to say we’re a big believer in the voice of the customer. Before we rebranded last year, we reached out and did customer research. While we used that information to create our new brand, there was valuable feedback that guided improvements in all our departments.

During the focus groups it was evident that the customer’s expectation was that we, as their equipment dealer, support them through being a good member of the community. We took those comments seriously and in the second phase of research, which included a phone survey, we gave customers five choices of where they preferred we focus our efforts. It came back 100% 4-H & FFA!

And we listened.

While we were already donating to these organizations and purchasing livestock at each of our county fair livestock auctions, we challenged ourselves to find more ways to engage with these organizations.

This year we’re excited to tie a donation to FFA members into our annual Parts Days. When you spend $1,000 or more during Parts Days, we’re donating $50 to FFA.

All the funds raised will go towards scholarships to FFA Camp and Washington Leadership Conference to FFA members in the counties Redline Equipment serves. 

Ironically, our Parts Days sale is during National FFA Week. I cannot think of a better way to celebrate.

As a past FFA member, who served as a state officer, competing in public speaking, proficiency awards and so much more, I know first-hand the value of the organization. I was able to attend FFA Camp and the Washington Leadership Conference. Those experiences happen in the summer and come at an added cost for members. These scholarships will subsidize the expense for local members providing them unique experiences, personal growth opportunities, leadership skills and in many cases lifelong connections. 

We’re passionate about this because we know FFA members are our future employees and customers.

I’m proud to say that we’re doing more than supporting the FFA financially. You’ll see redliners using their time and talents to help FFA members by serving as judges for contest, mentoring students who are participating in contests and using our facilities and equipment as learning tools.

Heather Hetterick is the Director of Marketing at Redline Equipment. Her inspiration and drive to provide heroic customer support and the ultimate customer experience comes from growing up on a farm where her dad always critical of his dealers. She previously worked at the Association of Equipment Manufactures as their Communications Manager. Prior to that she was a farm broadcaster for the Ohio Ag Net and served as the Director Marketing for the Ohio Pork Council. She loves pigs and pork and when she isn’t working carpet farms with her son Tucker.
