Library Donations & Storytime Help Tell Our Customers Story
One thing was very clear in our customer research last year; you expected us to help you tell your story. After all, farm equipment is often what comes to mind when the public thinks about farmers.
So, we used our resources to share the importance of agriculture and get factual information on farming practices into minds of young people.
This summer we donated 11 sets of the Case IH Casey Friends book series, which explore modern farm equipment and how it’s used to libraries in the communities we serve.
Then we hosted a story time at the libraries.
A typical event looked something like this: one to two Redline Equipment employees would drive a red tractor to the library and greet everyone with the complete set of six Casey & Friends books, red tractor nametags would be distributed to the kids, fun agriculture-related children’s books would be read, songs would be sung, games would be played and dance moves were seen. Then as a finale, the kids would go outside and do their best tractor-driving impressions! After the event, we also provided coupons that could be redeemed at the store for one free Casey & Friends Activity Book that coincides with the book series.
Our first event took place in Bowling Green, and the feedback was encouraging. Children and parents alike learned about what it means to put tracks on a tractor and how many hypothetical horses would be used today if they were to replace a Quadtrac.
The next nine events brought similar reactions from excited children with a serious curiosity for big tractors. In all, approximately 300 children attended the events and had the opportunity to learn more about farm equipment and agriculture.
Although these events were an amazing experience for local children, it was obvious parents, library staff and Redline Equipment employees genuinely enjoyed the experience as well! It is always rewarding to share our passion for farming in our communities, especially as it becomes more and more important to share the story of agriculture.
